Fleur of England

  • Designer Spotlight - Fleur of England

Posted on October 20, 2010 by foxandrose

Things have been a little quiet on the blogging front as we have frantically been sorting out the final touches to our much anticipated website due to launch very soon. In the meantime we thought could get started on introducing you to each designer we are truly excited to be working with.

Today is the turn of Fleur of England the loved label that hails from Southern England. Fleur of England is all about creating exceptional fit from luxurious fabrics sourced across the globe, to make the wearer look and feel stunning. The delicate pieces, made from floaty silks, chiffons and satins, are highly regarded for their fantastic fit and distinctive aesthetic as well as plush opulence and attention to detail.

This season ‘Midnight Storm’ collection has all the delightful ‘Fleur’ hallmarks. Crafted from a magnificent twilight blue silk and finished with Fleur’s signature eyelash lace, lush silk straps, this is sure to appeal to anyone who values elegant styling with a modern twist. We adore the Lace Balcony Bra (pictured above with the skirted thong and matching suspenders) with it's double lined cups for added support, creating a soft natural silhouette and gentle uplift, the perfect underpinnings.

The Crush collection is a line that keeps going strong. Sold internationally, this has been one of Fleur’s best ever selling ranges and one glimpse will confirm why. For those that don’t necessarily favor lingerie with a reddish hue this will instantly convert you. Fashioned from a vibrant Raspberry silk this color is sure to make you smile; fresh, young and instantly alluring. For a seductive boudoir look the Crush Babydoll is just the ticket. Underwired with gently molded cups it offers great support to the bust whilst still retaining it’s studied delicacy. Of course there is also the famous Lace Padded Balcony Bra or for a softer silhouette the Lace Balcony Bra, which both work fabulously under clothes.

Its easy to see why Fleur of England has become the cult brand amongst many fashion darlings and was even worn by Carrie Bradshaw herself (Sarah Jessica Parker) in Sex and the City 2. We can’t promise that your whole wardrobe will be as fabulous, but we think with underpinnings by Fleur of England you’ll be more than halfway there.

  • Lounging Fox & Rose Style

Posted on October 13, 2010 by foxandrose

Loungewear can be a tricky terrain to navigate.   Just the name conjures up images of fraying tracksuit bottoms and shapeless t-shirts.  Yet fear not we have selected some truly exceptional pieces designed to instantly elevate the spirit and make the transition from work to play a glamorous one.

Whoever insinuated that pyjamas were dowdy and deeply unsexy would be well advised to consider this superb creation from Eberjey.   The Lady Godiva chemise and matching pant fashioned from the softest cotton and with feminine lace detailing around the bust line achieves the impossible, managing to be both comfortable and truly alluring.  Take your pick of color, either rosewater, a delectable powdery pink for a girlish vibe, or opt for the pebble, a sultry dark grey for refined elegance.

Pure silk can sometimes be the perfect antidote to combat a stressful day.  The instant hit of a sumptuous fabric close to the skin is enough to banish the blues.   For this reason we love Fred & Ginger’s exquisite kimono, with it’s billowing sleeve and fitted shape, designed to make you feel like complete goddess the minute it envelops the body.   For those who value a looser fit then Fleur of England Ruby Kimono should be at the top of your wish list.  Opt for Crush in a deep raspberry or try the Daisy Dreams in a soft cream for a more natural look.

For a splash of daring opulence and for those in a decidedly come hither mood then your first choice could only be Ell & Cee’s Black Magic Maxi in a lip smacking silk chiffon with criss cross sequin straps.   Completely transparent it will certainly send pulse rates sky high.  Team with the Black Magic Tassle Knickers to complete the look and maintain a modicum of respectability.

Loungewear needn’t necessarily apply to items of clothing.  Sometimes it can feel great to whip off the underwired, padded bra and opt for something a little less structured.  Soft triangle bras can be a great option for lounging.   Our top pick would be any one of the beautiful creations from Beautiful Bottoms.   Crafted from the finest silk, we love their delicate prints and quirky details.  In fact the two mavericks behind this label, Lauren and Poppy, are introducing an extensive loungewear collection for next spring summer.  You’ll be able to purchase a vast array of their camisoles, dreamy nighties and sparkly robes here at Fox & Rose.  We can’t wait.

  • Great Foundations

Posted on September 17, 2010 by foxandrose

We are constantly on the look out for great foundation undergarments.   The kind of pieces that sit well under clothes yet also feel lightweight and comfortable.  Some mistakenly believe that this kind of underwear should be the ubiquitous low priced items found in abundance on our high street.   Yet at Fox & Rose we vehemently disagree.  If anything everyday pieces should be an investment that should be made above and beyond anything else in your wardrobe.  A great foundation makes clothes sit properly and  creates a sound silhouette.

We’ve talked a little of Cosabella before on the blog and they, in our opinion, offer some of the best foundation garments on the market.   Take for example the Marni Strapless Bra (pictured left)it is without doubt the most formidable and versatile bra we have come across in terms of functionality.  The longer line body offers superior support and the plunge style and scooped back mean you can wear it with pretty much anything.   You also have the option to boost your cleavage with the removable cookies or wear as a standard bra by adding straps.   At this point you might be thinking, well yes great but I’ve seen similar high street buys at a fraction of the price. None however will feel as light and soft on the skin.   The thing with more expensive garments is the quality of fabric used that generally tends to last longer and wear better.

Another super basic bra is the Soire Molded bra (pictured below right) also by Cosabella.  Under wired and with soft cups it gives a great silhouette and thanks to their signature Tulle feels like you are wearing nothing.

Functional pieces don’t necessarily need to be plain.   Fleur of England’s Padded Balcony’s and Lace cup balconies (pictured below) work fabulously under garments despite being supremely beautiful.   The quality of lace used makes all the difference as a Leaver lace will always mold to the breast unlike some of the cheaper versions that feel constrictive and rigid.

So we hope in some way we might have convinced you to take the leap of faith and experiment with some of our great offerings, which will be available on our site very soon.   If you sign up now to our 7th Floor members club you will receive a 10% discount on your initial order.
